with regard to the two drunkards whose names

are not given by the Governor, we can only state that

every care possible was taken before engaging the men to

satisfy ourselves that they were of sober habits.

As

regards the syphilitic referred to, we would state that

all men engaged by us were ce usual medically examined

and passed as fit by the Medical /dviser to the Colonial

office. As the Colonial Government do not state the

name of this man, we are unable to refer the matter to

the "edical Adviser.
